| Over the past 10 years, Australian Designer and Businesswoman Marie Hatzis has grown the Hussy label from a small, one-woman operation into a highly successful international commodity. Supported by a tight team of fashion professionals, the Hussy brand has grown from strength to strength. Hailing from a fashion related background with a highly astute seamstress as her mother; Marie acquired the flair for design and eye for detail from an early age. Her perfectionism is renowned and it is this quality, combined with her acute business acumen that has driven the success and longevity of the business thus far. She is passionate about Australian fashion and over the years has been involved in cultivating and promoting Australian design both nationally and overseas, participating in events such as Australian Style in London in 2005 and Aus Style in Dubai in 2006. Marie was recently ranked 36 on BRW Magazine's Top 50 Female Entrepreneurs list of 2006 and was recently interviewed for one of the highest rating free to air network television programs - Today Tonight. The Hussy label is a distinguished and highly recognisable brand with eclectic and unique prints, signature tailoring and a forward-thinking style. We release three Summer and two Winter collections annually with a full compliment of wide ranging and fully coordinating accessories. Our first Hussy flagship store opened in Darlinghurst, Sydney seven years ago and a second Hussy retail emporium was opened in 2004 in the prestigious Strand Arcade. We are now distributed throughout 100 targeted boutiques and department stores nationally, including department store giant David Jones - and have further accounts in UK, Europe, USA, Asia, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates. During 2006 Sydney Fashion Week we showed our collections to delegates from Vancouver, Toronto, Atlanta, New York, Jakarta, Athens, Dubai, Milan, Sweden and Singapore - subsequently securing significant new business. We are a truly global operation and our continuing focus is to consistently expand the local market and develop our business throughout new territories to meet the international demand. We have first class representation for local and international publicity, and our garments have been endorsed by Destiny's Child, "Miss Universe" Jennifer Hawkins, international chart topping band The Veronicas, and a plethora of local celebrities. Our company is regularly profiled in Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Madison, Follow, Cosmopolitan and Cleo - plus all the high circulation weeklies, weekend newspapers and supplements. In June 2006 we released the latest addition to the Hussy Empire - a brand new, high-end luxury label entitled Madame Marie, which caters to the more exclusive, top-end market. The opening collection is entitled Palais of the Forbidden and consists of beautifully crafted and exquisitely intricate garments, with unique hand embellishments and a distinctly avant garde style. An "A List" media launch was held shortly after Sydney Fashion Week at the stunning Marble Bar beneath the luxurious Sydney Hilton - to amazing success. The wide ranging and ever-growing client base is a testament to the longevity of the label, with customers still wearing items from the first collection as proudly today as they were many years ago. Everyone has a Hussy story to tell and our customers have had incredible adventures whilst wearing their Hussy outfits. This has become part of the Hussy folklore and has reinforced the notion that from the beginning, women everywhere have fallen in love with Hussy over and over again. Hussy is an iconic brand at the forefront of the fashion industry and with the introduction of new label Madame Marie, is a force to be reckoned with. |
